A personal creature design and prosthetic makeup study created in Los Angeles in 2025.
Creative intention
The design explores a hybrid of insect anatomy and the human face through symmetry, layered surfaces and sculptural extensions. A blue-and-silver palette, supported by dark tones and red highlights, emphasizes the form under lighting.
Role of PAFX
PAFX Studio completed the entire process, from concept development and clay sculpting to mould-making, silicone casting, character paint and final prosthetic application on the model.

The character was developed from the initial concept through clay sculpting, mould-making and silicone casting before being painted, applied and finished on the model.
Project narrative
Alien Butterfly 1.0 is a personal character study exploring the intersection of insect anatomy and the human face. Symmetrical forms, layered surfaces around the eyes and lateral extensions create a creature that feels both organic and unfamiliar.
