OXBLOOD / SILVER FORM
Project narrative
Oxblood / Silver Form is a personal editorial makeup project developed and executed by PAFX Studio in 2019. The work explores the relationship between colour, sculptural composition and fashion objects within a tightly framed portrait. Oxblood lips form the central visual accent, contrasted by black-and-silver eye makeup, reflective metallic surfaces and white fabric surrounding the subject.
Context
Developed as a personal study, the project brings makeup, styling and art direction into a single visual composition. Each element was arranged to support the relationship between the face, reflective objects and contrasting materials.
Creative intention
The project was developed around three elements: oxblood colour, silver surfaces and sculptural form. Two metallic shoes are removed from their conventional function and used as visual objects, positioned symmetrically around the face. This arrangement defines the frame while directing attention toward the performer’s expression and makeup. The white fabric introduces a soft, luminous surface that balances the colder metallic details. Contrasts between softness and rigidity, light and shadow, and organic and artificial forms give the image its experimental editorial character.
Role of PAFX
PAFX Studio was responsible for the complete creative and visual development of the project, including concept development, editorial makeup, art direction and styling.

Process
The makeup design focuses on the contrast between the oxblood lips and the black-and-silver treatment around the eyes. The dark lip colour establishes a clear focal point, while the eye makeup visually connects the face to the metallic objects within the composition. Rather than treating makeup and styling as separate elements, the colour palette was developed as part of one unified visual system. Fashion objects extend the visual structure of the face, while the metallic neck detail and white fabric continue the material language of the image.
Final result
The completed work brings makeup, fashion objects and portrait composition together as a unified image. The oxblood colour provides the emotional focal point, while the reflective silver surfaces and symmetrical arrangement create a colder, more precise and sculptural presence.
